This is the ancient Tamiya Panzer ll straight (almost) out of the box.....
....it was a quick test piece using Tamiya acrylics to finish it off.
Weathering was kept to a minimum as I like to see the vehicle rather than lots of layers of dirt.
The figures were given a little more attention (as the moulds are almost as old as I am!) - undercutting the belts and hollowing out the sleeves. The weapons received some slings made of paper.
The figures were almost entirely painted using an airbrush - with minor details being picked out with a brush.
I have long since given up painting faces preferring to spend the time building more models than painting tiny eyes on something you can barely see!
A suitable frame was sourced (thanks to the local 'Range' store) and groundwork mixed up from real dirt and white glue.
The model was then pushed into the mix to give it the right 'sit'.
The figures were just superglued on rather than pinned as the whole thing is going into a box anyway to protect it.
Static grass was added and drybrushed to a better finish and some weeds were carved from sprue for added visual interest.
Once on the base some thinned down khaki colour was airbrushed onto the tank and figures to tie them to the groundwork....
.... and some subtle weathering was added to the tank using black and brown pastels and the first model of 2017 is complete.
