Time for masking.

After laying on the base colours it time to mask.

I used a combination of blu-tack worms and cling film.

The colours I used were airbrushed on using AK Interactive RAF Camouflage colours.
They airbrushed brilliantly with no thinning!

The dark green was airbrushed on - again using AK Interactive RAF Camouflage colours.

After the masking has been removed.

Taking shape at last

After a few days of fiddling detail - some major components have been added.

Machine guns detailed and painted...

...will largely be unseen on the finished thing - shame.

Engine in place awaiting final detailing.

Taking shape at last.

Sunday 9 July 2017

Started to paint the engine.

Lots of lovely black washes highlight the detail.

More Painting

Lots more detail painting.

Cockpit tub has been assembled.

No extras have been added - detail is pretty good out of the box.

Cockpit went together without issues.

Just need to add some seatbelts.

Detail Painting

 Started some detail painting.

Added some fake stencilling from some old dry transfer sheets.

A lot of  highlighting and shading were added to enhance the parts with less detail on them.

A test fit shows most of the detail will be difficult to see...

...oh well at least I know it's there!

Thursday 6 July 2017

First up for detail painting - pilot seat.

Internal components painted using AK Interactive RAF colours.

On Commission

Commission Build - I'm looking forward to this one - never done a '24th scale so here we go!

Initial dry fit - looks good.

Big beast!
