Secret Mission - Revealed!

A special 'birthday' commission build of my good friends Land Rover 110 Defender 'Wolf'

Base kit was Hobby Boss Defender with Eduard's etch kit for the final details.

The kit went together with no fit issues.

The main issue is the wheels and tyres. Luckily Accurate Armour had just released the Wolf XD Steel wheels + G90 Tyres which give a better representation of the beefy wheels.

The build work done - a lot of the interior detail will be difficult to see such as seat belt details etc. (and its all painted black!)

Tool brackets were very fiddly but add a lot of fine detail.

Rear tool brackets were scratchbuilt...

...as was the snorkel.

Towing strap was fashioned from a scalpel blade packet.

The kit is quite small in 1/35th scale.

All the construction work finished and ready for primer.

All the parts in sub assembly fully painted and ready to be put together.

A gallery of the finished thing.

Panther work progress

Some in progress shots of the photo etch being added.

I ditched the exhaust brackets as they were too fiddly choosing to make my own from spare etch runners.

The grilles were added and really are the most essential addition being conspicuous by thier abscense.

Tool brackets were very fiddly and time consuming but well worth the effort.

Tool brackets were added to each side..

...as well as gun cleaning rod tube and various other bits.

Front mud guards have now been added and various details to the turret.

'Classic' Vintage Tamiya Panther

Motorization holes have been filled and the awful tracks (to be replaced) have been added.

Main hull assembly completed and holes filled.

Smaller details can now be added such as hatch retaining brackets.

Exhausts were drilled out and brass strip mounting brackets added.

Detail starts to be added on the engine deck.
